Portland Book Review (PBR) was born in 2010 from the concept created by its parent company 1776 Productions for Sacramento Book Review and San Francisco Book Review in sunny California.

One of their Reviewers for two years, M. Chris Johnson wanted to bring this exciting, lone concept to the city that she love. Portland is the right city for this newsletter! She loves her communities, her theaters, her bookstores and cafes, her parks and adventurous places. Portland Book Review intends to embrace that same adoration and share Portland with all our viewers to enjoy through books.

Sacramento Book Review, launched in September 2008, challenging the trend in a year when print newspaper book review sections were on the decline, being cancelled, or being moved into the Arts section of a daily newspaper. Portland Book Review, Sacramento Book Review and San Francisco Book Review is unique in that it is the only city-focused, free monthly book review publication dedicated to those who love to read and those passionate about ideas, growth and their beloved city.

PBR is produced by Imagine Enterprises located in Cornelius, Oregon.

Mission Statement

Portland Book Review will connect people through books.
